Rex Anthony

Rex Leon Anthony, son of the late Gladys Anthony Fritts, was born on July 3, 1917, at Dexter and died in the Missouri Southern Healthcare at Dexter on Nov. 1, 2002, at the age of 85. Mr. Anthony was a retired farmer and was a resident of rural Dexter. He was united in marriage to Myrtle Glendle Crain on Jan. 21, 1936, at Dexter. Survivors include his wife, Myrtle Anthony of Dexter; two sons, Donald Ray Anthony and Jimmie W. Anthony, both of Dexter; one daughter, Ruth Burner of Bernie; one brother, Earl Dean Fritts of Grand Rapids, Mich.; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren. Besides his mother, he was preceded in death by two sons, Rex Anthony, Jr. and Harold Gene Anthony in infancy; one brother, Carlton Fritts; one sister, Bonnie Jueles; and one great-grandchild. Visitation was held from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, 2002, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. today, Sunday, Nov. 3, 2002, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow in the Bernie Cemetery in Bernie.
