Wanda Lee Stephens, the daughter of the late Charles and Lora Lee Venable Dailey, was born in Puxico on Feb. 5, 1922, and died at the Three Rivers Healthcare Center North in Poplar Bluff on Oct. 29, 2002, at the age of 80. Mrs. Stephens had lived in the Puxico community for many years, in Malden for ten years and had moved to Dexter five years ago. She was a member of the First General Baptist Church in Dexter. On Oct. 15, 1938, she was married to Norman Crank, and he preceded her in death on April 9, 1964. On Jan. 17, 1986, she married Ray E. Stephens in Dexter. Surviving are her husband Ray E. Stephens of Dexter; one son, Larry Lee Crank of Puxico; one daughter, Deloris Braswell of Wappapello; one step-son, J.E. Stephens of Scotsdale, Ariz.; one step-daughter, Narva Young of Poplar Bluff; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; many step-great-grandchildren; and several step-great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sisters and one grandson, Jim Braswell. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. today, Thursday, Oct. 31, 2002, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 1, 2002, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter with the Rev. Kenneth Lambert and the Rev. Kenneth Biggs officiating. Interment will follow in the Puxico Cemetery in Puxico with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
