Jerry Dale Cooper, son of the late Dub and Mary Cooper, was born at Tiptonville, Tenn., on Dec. 19, 1943, and died at Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter on Oct. 17, 2002, at the age of 58. Mr. Cooper had been a resident of Dexter the past 25 years and attended the Ark of Hope Church in Dexter. He was a minister and retired dispatcher, safety man and broker for truck lines. On Feb. 1, 1978, he was married to Janis Pugh. Survivors include his wife Janis Cooper of the home in Dexter; two sons, Tim Cooper of Memphis and Mike Cooper of Arlington Heights, Miss.; three step-sons, Lon Watson of Little Rock, Ark., Tony Watson of Alton, Ill., and Scott Arnett of Worden, Ill.; one step-daughter, Renna Weymouth of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Donna Riggs of Southaven, Miss., and Cheryl Corona of West Memphis, Ark.; one half-sister, Betty Cates of Hawaii; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Visitation will be held after 10:00 a.m. today, Sunday, Oct. 20, 2002, at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 20, 2002, at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Rev. Tim Russell and Rev. David Hardin officiating. Interment will follow in the Lick Creek Cemetery.
