Ruth Sprinkle, daughter of the late Noah Parris and Maude Whitley Parris, was born on Aug. 29, 1913, at Fayette, Ala., and died in the Missouri Southern Healthcare at Dexter on Oct. 15, 2002, at the age of 89. Mrs. Sprinkle was a member of the First Pentecostal Church in Dexter, a former employee of Brown Shoe Company in Bernie, a former employee of Swift and Company in Dexter, and a resident of Bloomfield. She was united in marriage to J.D. Sprinkle on March 16, 1956, at Alton, Ill. Mr. Sprinkle preceded her in death on Dec. 20, 1961. Survivors include five daughters, Ruth Black, JoAnn Burleson, and Sharon Kirkman all of Dexter, Nellie Stewart of Cuba, and Sue Murphy of Jefferson City; two sisters, Bonnie Haga of Dexter and Edith Beggs of Eureka Spring; 23 grandchildren; and 42 great-grandchildren. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three sons, Jack Kirkman, Charles Kirkman and Frankie Kirkman; four brothers, Robert Parris, George Parris, Paul Parris and Walter Parris. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. today Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2002, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17, 2002, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Kirby officiating. Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
