Josephine Ruth Sommers, daughter of the late Fred Sommers and Cordia Macom Sommers, was born on Dec. 17, 1941, at Jerusalem, Ark., and died in the Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis on Sept. 22, 2002, at the age of 60. Miss Sommers was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah?s Witnesses in Dexter, a former dietary aide at Beverly Health and Rehabilitation Center in Bloomfield and a resident of Bloomfield. Survivors include two brothers, Ben Sommers of Jerusalem, Ark., and Levi Sommers of Bloomfield; four sisters, Velma Finto of Buck Holt, Texas, Lorene Hannel of Bloomfield, Rose Wallace and Helen Greer, both of Kansas City, Kan. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, George Sommers, Frank Sommers, and John Sommers; and one sister, Daisy Honneycutt. A memorial service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2002, in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah?s Witnesses at Dexter with Elder Bill Greer officiating.
