J.B. ?Jack? Hanback, 75, of Gaylord, Mich., died Saturday, Sept. 7, 2002, at Northwestern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey, Mich. Mr. Hanback was born on Nov. 8, 1926, in Tennessee to the late W.C. Hanback and Bitha M. Estes Hanback. He was retired from the Niles Michigan School System. In 1946, he married Betty Mae Moss in Morehouse. She survives of the home in Gaylord, Mich. Other survivors include one daughter, Sharon Jann of Gaylord; four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; three brothers, Henry Hanback of Phoenix, Ariz., Tony and Terry Hanback of Niles, Mich.; four sisters, Jean Babb, Ora Dean Brown and Brenda Hann of Dexter, and Carolyn Cole of Niles. Mr. Hanback was preceded in death by one son, Dennis Hanback; one brother, Doyle Hanback; three sisters, Laverne Beck, Bonnie Sue and Dorthy Faye Hanback. Visitation was held on Monday, Sept. 9, 2002. at the Nelson Funeral Home in Gaylord, Mich. Interment followed at the Fairview Cemetery in Gaylord.
