Zelma Christine Carroll, age 83, of Blodgett died on Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2002, at 10:10 p.m. at Crowley Ridge Care Center in Dexter. She was born on Dec. 15, 1918, in Neeleyville to the late John Wesley and Cora Murrell Strayhorn. She was a housewife and homemaker and a member of the Blodgett Baptist church. On Dec. 4, 1940, she married Clayton Carroll in Sikeston, and he preceded her in death on June 22, 1993. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Lonny Blasingame of Dexter; three grandchildren, Dale Blasingame of Blodgett, Sherri North of St. Louis, and Ashley McCord of Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; two great-grandchildren, Madeline and Samuel North of St. Louis; three nieces, Nina Summers of Ironton, Margaret Wyman of Jackson, and Ruth Stucky of Denton, Texas. She was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters. Visitation was held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 12, at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel. Graveside services were held Friday, Sept. 13, at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens with Lowell Blasingame of the Church of Christ in Grenada, Miss., officiating. PAID .
