Gladys Wamble

Gladys O. Wamble, the daughter of the late Jesse and Alice Reed Ross, was born in Dexter, Mo., on AUG. 17, 1911, and died at Westland Convalescent Center in Westland, Mich., on Aug. 16, 2002, at the age of 90. Mrs. Wamble was a homemaker and had moved to Detroit, Mich., in 1937. On Dec. 1, 1929, she was married to Cecil J. Wamble in Dexter, and he preceded her in death on June 1, 1999. Surviving are one son, Jesse Franklin Wamble of Lewisburg, Tenn.; three daughters, Pauline Turowski of Dearborn Heights, Mich., Glenda Boyd of Lincoln Park, Mich., JoAnn Patrick of Colorado Springs, Colo.; 20 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Virgil Ross of Royal Oak, Mich. She was preceded in death by six brothers and sisters. Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2002, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 22, 2002, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter with Rev. Phil Warren of Dexter officiating. Interment will follow in the Triplett Cemetery near Dexter with Watkins & sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
