Allen Dickinson

Allen Dickinson, 72, son of the late Leslie Benjamin and Alma Van Matre Dickinson, was born Dec. 30, 1929, at McGee and died July 30, 2002, near Zalma. Mr. Dickinson was a member of Shady Dell General Baptist Church at McGee. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in the Korean War, and was head sawyer at Lemming Lumber Company in Cape Girardeau for over 40 years. He was also a member of the Zalma Masonic Lodge #545. Survivors include one son, Steve Dickinson of Zalma; one brother, Hugh Dickinson of Bardwell, Ky.; two sisters, Carmen Randolph of Woodriver, Ill., and Carol Dickinson of McGee; and two grandchildren. A sister and two brothers also preceded him in death. Visitation was held from 5:30 - 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 1, 2002, and a Masonic service was held at 7:00 p.m. at the Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 2, 2002, at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance with interment following at Brush Creek Cemetery near Arab.
