James Griffin

James W. ?Cotton? Griffin, the son of the late Alvia Griffin, was born at Morehouse on Oct. 29, 1929, and died at his home in Morehouse on July 29, 2002, at the age of 72 years. Mr. Griffin was a resident of Morehouse all his life and was retired from Associate Natural Gas Company. Surviving are one son James David Griffin of Morehouse; one daughter Donna Kaye Sladek of Ballwin, Mo.; two sisters Anna Anderson of New Madrid and Betty Sue Tooley of Chicago, Ill.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Other relatives and many friends also survive. Visitation will be held between 5:00 and 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 31, 2002, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Morehouse. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 1, 2002, at the Watkins & sons Funeral Home in Morehouse with Rev. W.H. Worth of Essex officiating. Interment will follow in the Triplett Cemetery near Dexter with Watkins & sons Funeral Service of Morehouse in charge of arrangements.
