Thomas Gilbert Lee, the son of the late Marshal Eugene and Nancy Elizabeth Giles Lee, was born in Pyletown, Mo. on May 31, 1904, and died at Florissant on Saturday, July 27, 2002, at the age of 98. Mr. Lee had lived in Dudley for most of his life before moving to St. Charles in 1999. He was a retired farmer and attended the Church of Christ in Dudley while living there. On July 25, 1925, he married the former Leeta Patton and to this union one son was born. She preceded him in death on June 25, 1926. He later married the former Lillie Edith Pettit and to this union six children were born. Surviving are his wife, Lillie Edith Lee of Florissant; five sons, Robert Lee of Wappapello, Albert Vance and Marshall Lee, both of Pensacola, Fla., Gary Lee of St. Charles and Wendell Lee of Cushman, Ark.; one daughter, Eunice Firle of Florissant; 17 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. Other relatives and many friends also survive. He was preceded in death by one son, Casper Lee; four brothers, Roland, Hardy, John and Harry Lee; and one sister, Edna Lee. Visitation was held after 6 p.m. Monday, July 29, 2002, in the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home, Dexter. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. today, Tuesday, July 30, 2002, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter with Bro. Dale Grissom of Dexter officiating. Interment followed in the Dudley Cemetery with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of all arrangements.
