Bob Maddox, the son of the late George Landy and Sallie Jewell Robison, was born in Choctaw, Ark., on Feb. 11, 1934, and died at the Missouri Southern Healthcare Facility in Dexter on July 24, 2002, at the age of 68 years. Mr. Maddox had lived in St. Charles, Ill., for many years and moved to Dexter in 1992. He was a retired carpenter and a member of Carpenter?s Local #1345 in Geneva, Ill. He was also a member of the Essex First Baptist Church. On Dec. 31, 1987, he was married to Annette Sparacio in Dexter. Surviving are his wife Annette Maddox of Dexter; three sons, Daryl Maddox of Plato Center, Ill., Bobby Maddox of Maple Park, Ill., Landy Maddox of Dexter; two daughters, Kathy Monteleone of Plato Center, Ill., Sandy Alvarado of Sikeston; three sisters, Wanda Sanders of Essex, Sylvia Bollinger of Advance, and Loene Bradford of Clinton, Ark.; 15 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Other relatives and many friends also survive. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Bill Dean, Billy George, John and Tommy Maddox, and one sister, Helen Easley. Visitation will be held 5-8 p.m., Friday, July 26, 2002, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 27, 2002, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Dennis Ward of Essex officiating. Interment will follow in the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of all arrangements.
