Elmer Brehmer, son of the late Christian Frederick and Elsie Mary Elizabeth Massman Brehmer, was born on September 20, 1919 in Alva Okla., and died Sunday afternoon, June 30, 2002 in Integris Bass Baptist Health Center at the age of 82. Elmer was a graduate of Horace Mann High School of Alva in 1936, he then attended Northwestern State College in Alva. He joined the United States Army Air Corp in 1942 serving at Reesler Field in Biloxi Miss. He was given the Garfield County Soil Conservationist Award, was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Fairmont and was also an avid hunter, fisherman and gardener. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one brother. On June 15, 1943 he married Lillie Belle Looney in Alva, she survives of the home. Besides his wife, he is survived by three children; John Brehmer of Dexter, Beth Bliese of Jackson, and Jerry Brehmer of Dexter, seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A family visitation was held today Tuesday July 2, from 6-8 p.m. in the Ladusau-Evans Funeral Chapel. Funeral Services were held Wednesday, July 3, at 10 a.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church of Fairmont with Rev. Timothy Dorsch officiating. Interment will be conducted Friday, July 5, at 10 a.m. in the Stoddard Memorial Gardens in Dexter with Rev. Adam Mueller officiating and Ladusau-Evans Funeral Chapel in charge of arrangements.
