Dr. Michael John Bader, of 509 East Willingham Street, Sylvester, Ga. was born January 26, 1952 and died Monday, June 17, 2002, at Shands University of Florida in Gainesville, Fla., at the age of 50. Dr. Bader was a native of Dexter, but had lived in Sylvester for the last 13 years and was an Extension engineer with the Biological and Agricultural Engineering Department at the University of Georgia Rural Development Center in Tifton. Dr. Bader was a 1970 graduate of Dexter High School and in 1974 he received his BS degree in Agriculture Engineering, in 1982 his MS degree in Ag. Engineering, in 1989 recieved his PH.D. in Agriculture Engineering at the University of Ky. He was a member of Our Divine Savior Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his father, Louis C. Bader. On April 30, 1988, he was married to Linda Lou Rausch Bader of Sylvester and she survives. Survivng are his mother, Rita L. Litzler Bader of Dexter; two brothers, Louis C. (Butch) Bader Jr. of Scott City and Kenny J. Bader of Columbia, Mo.; four sisters, Catherine Bockhold of Dexter, Shearon Harris of Bernie, Jovita Klott of Hermann, Roberta Cecil of Overland Park, Kan.; four Godchildren, Bonita Harris, Daniel Bockhold Jessica Cecil, Kathrine Evans; one nephew, Steven Bockhold; and four nieces, Angela Lulmer, Katie Cecil, Jennifer Cecil and Audrey Lulmer. The funeral services were held Friday, June 21 at 4 p.m. at Our Divine Savior Catholic Church in Tifton with Father Juan Lopez officiating. Graveside services will be conducted on Monday, June 24, at the Chalk Bluff Memorial Gardens Cemetery near Dexter, with Father John Sheley officiating. Interment will follow with Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
