James Leo Renfro, son of the late Martin A. Renfro and Mae Churchill Renfro was born on Febuary 24, 1924 at Hector, Ark. and died at his residence in Bernie on June 13, 2002 at the age of 78. Mr Renfro was the former co-owner of Belle?s Freeze Queen in Bernie, a veteran of the United States Navy, serving in World War II, a member of Bernie Masonic Lodge # 573, a resident of Bernie and an avid golfer. He was united in marriage to Belle LaRue on February 24, 1944 at Piggott, Ark. Mrs Renfro survives of the home in Bernie. Besides his wife, he is survived by three sons, Gary and wife Mary Renfro of St. Peters, Mo., Roger Renfro and Randy Renfro both of Dexter; by three daughters, Charlotte and husband Norman Combs of Kansas City, Mo., Janice Pott of St. Louis and Darla and husband Jim King of Kansas City, Mo.; by one brother, Newton Elmo and wife Mavis Renfro of Aztec, New Mexico; by two sisters Marjorie and husband Lloyd Zimmerman of Dexter and Dean and husband Carl ?Bunk? Swallows of Asherville, Mo.; by fourteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, E. C. Renfro and Kennet ?Mutt? Renfro. Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie from 5 p.m.-8. Friday, June 14. Masonic services will be conducted at 7:30 p.m., Friday evening. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m., Saturday June 15, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Bernie with Rev. Dale Hartle officiating. Interment will follow in the Bernie Cemetery.
