Loyeal Hoskins

Loyeal Hoskins, the son of the late Norman and Abbie Baremore Hoskins, was born in Sikeston on Jan. 4, 1937 and died at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston on May 29, 2002, at the age of 65. Mr. Hoskins had lived in Morehouse all of his life and was a retired diesel mechanic. He was united in marriage to Norma Ellis on July 19, 1953 at Parma, she survives of the home. Besides his wife, he is survived by three sons, Bill Hoskins of Oran, Roy and Darrell Hoskins, both of Morehouse; by five daughters, Norma Jean Knuckles of Dexter, Kathy Graham and Cheryl Jones, both of Sikeston, Shelia Rodgers and Daniele Sims, both of Morehouse; by one sister, Susie Waters of Sikeston; by two brothers, Harold Hoskins of Sikeston and Dave Hoskins of St. Louis; by 18 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Larry W. Hoskins on March 28, 1973 and one brother, John Hoskins. Visitation will be held Friday, May 31 from 5 - 8 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Morehouse. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, June 1 at 1 p.m. at the 1st Pentecostal Church in Morehouse with Rev. Philip Cook of Springfield, Mo. officiating. Interment will follow in the Bernie Cemetery with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Morehouse in charge of arrangements.
