Clarence Russell ?Pop? Parr, the son of the late Andy and Monica Lee Lowery Hutton Parr, was born in East Prairie, Mo., on Oct. 20, 1929, and died at his home in Morehouse on June 1, 2002, at the age of 72. Mr. Parr had lived in Morehouse the past 23 years and was an alderman at the time of his death. He formerly resided in St. Louis. On July 5, 1950, he married the former Naomi Casey in Piggott, Ark. Surviving are his wife, Naomi Parr of Morehouse; three sons, Kerry Lee Parr and Gary Dewayne Parr, both of Morehouse, and Timothy Gayle Parr of Sikeston; two daughters, Ruth Ann Helmes and Sharon Rowell, both of Matthews; 11 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, James A. Parr of Albany, Ga., and Jimmie Dale Parr of Fredericktown. He was preceded in death by one son, Terry Russell, and one brother, Paul Parr. Visitation will be held at 5 p.m. today, Tuesday, June 4, 2002, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Morehouse. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 5, at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Morehouse with the Rev. Tom McCanless of Kewanee officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Morehouse in charge of arrangements.
