William Dennis Jackson, son of the late Ernest Jackson and Clara McFarlen Jackson, was born on March 20, 1926 at Dexter and died in the emergency room of the Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter on June 3, 2002, at the age of 76. Mr. Jackson was a farmer, a veteran of the United States Marines, serving in World War II, and a resident of Bernie. He was united in marriage to Genivea Franklin on Feb. 14, 1957 at Hernando, Miss. Mrs. Jackson survives of the home in Bernie. Besides his wife, he is survived by three sons, Gerald Jackson of Dexter, Robert Franklin and Larry Franklin, both of Bloomfield; by eight daughters, Loretta Gammon of Fredericktown, Brenda Irwin of Morley, Linda Myers, Yvonne Gord, Donna Bolin, Joy Burnett and Jill Hampton, all of Dexter, and Brenda Phillips of Rolla; by one sister, Bertha Sedrick of Dexter; by 23 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Clarence Jackson; by two sisters, Beulah Johns and Alberta Moody; and by one son, Dwayne Jackson. Visitation will be held at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 5 - 8 p.m., Tuesday, June 4. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m., Wednesday, June 5 in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Gerald King officiating. Interment will follow at the Bernie Cemetery with Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
