Jerry Jarrell

Jerry Jarrell, son of the late Raymond Lawrence Jarrell and Jennie Davis Jarrell, was born on Sept. 5, 1936 in Dexter and died in the Crowley Ridge Care Center in Dexter on May 29, 2002, at the age of 65. Mr. Jarrell was affiliated with the First Assembly of God Church in Dexter, worked in the accounting department at the Sikeston Wal-Mart and a resident of Dexter. On June 29, 1974 he was united in marriage to Lula Owens at Dexter. Mrs. Jarrell survives of the home in Dexter. Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, Charley Jarrell and one step-son, Michael Harmon, both of Dexter; by one daughter, Terri McClintock of Fayetteville, Ark. and one step-daughter, Phyllis Rogers of Dexter; by two sisters, Nita Lee Bittner of St. Peters, Mo. and Mary Lou Schinker of Dexter; by four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, Mr. Jarrell was preceded in death by three brothers, Earl M. Jarrell during World War II, Maurice Raymond Jarrell and John Raymond Jarrell, both in infancy. Visitation will be held at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 5 - 8 p.m., Thursday, May 30. Funeral services will be conducted in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel at 3 p.m., Friday, May 31 with Rev. Andrew Lovins officiating. Interment will follow in the Sadler Chapel Cemetery with Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
