Vada Mae Blevins of Burton, daughter of the late James and Lula Briggance, was born Sept. 19, 1915 in Dexter, Mo. and died Tuesday, May 28, 2002 at Genesys Convalescent Center, at the age of 86. Mrs. Blevins had been a resident of Burton for 25 years. She had worked in small manufacturing plants in Mich. and was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Swartz Creek. She was united in marriage to Delmar Blevins and he preceded her in death in 1971. Survivors include one brother and sister-in-law, Felton and Marie Briggance of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; special friend, Norman Morningstar of Burton; special in-laws, Marsena Burgess of Flushing, Shirley and Wayne Burner of Swartz Creek, Bill and Vee Blevins of Pontiac, Bob and Mary Blevins of Bernie, Mo. and Bernie Huffman of Malden, Mo. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters and brothers, Della Lewis, Louise Crews, Gertrude Tabb, Otis and Jess Briggance. Visitation was held at Sharp Funeral Home Funeral & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road, (just south of Hill Road) Flint, Mich. 48507, from 6 - 9 p.m., Wednesday, May 29. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., today, Thursday, May 30, 2002 in the Sharp Funeral Chapel with Pastor Aaron Whitman officiating. Interment followed in the Bernie Cemetery in Bernie, Mo.
