Elza La Marr Stallings of Marble Hill, was born July 6, 1922 at Dearing, Mo. and died May 20, 2002 at Dexter, at the age of 79. Mr. Stallings had worked for S.E. Stone in Cape Girardeau and was self-employed before retiring. He was a veteran of the United States Army during the World War II and attended the Egypt Church. On Jan. 18, 1947, he was united in marriage to Margaret Wagner in Piggott, Ark., she survives. He is survived by three daughters, Aloma Jean Blake of Cahokia, Ill, Margaret Virginia Birdsall of Paw Paw, Mich. and Kim Coffee of Dexter; by 11 grandchildren; by 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Jessie Stallings. Visitation will be held at the Morgan-Sifford Funeral Home in Puxico after 6 p.m., Wednesday, May 22. Funeral Services will be conducted in the Morgan-Sifford Funeral Chapel on Thursday, May 23 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Wayne Burchett officiating. Interment will follow at Union Hill Cemetery in Zalma with Morgan-Sifford Funeral Home of Puxico in charge of arrangements.
