Everett A. Hitt

Everett A. Hitt of Advance, son of the late Jessie Hitt, was born June 29, 1915 at Arbor and died on his farm in a truck accident on May 15, 2002, at the age of 86. Mr. Hitt was a retired farmer and of the Methodist faith. He was a 1935 graduate of Delta High School, served on the MFA Board of Directors, a Board Member of the Swan Pond School District. He also had a two-year term with the CCC Camp as a typist. On June 17, 1936 he was united in marriage to Ilene Cox at Jackson and she survives of the home in Advance. Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, Lloyd Hitt of Brownwood; by two daughters, Eula 'Ann' Bowling of Dexter and Lois Tweedy of Cape Girardeau; by six grandchildren; and by eight great-grandchildren. Besides his mother, he was preceded in death by an infant son and one brother. Visitation will be held at the Morgan Funeral Home in Advance from 5 - 8:30 p.m., Friday, May 17. Funeral services will be conducted in the Morgan Funeral Chapel at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 18 with Bro. Billy Davis officiating. Interment will follow at the Morgan Memorial Park in Advance with Morgan Funeral Home of Advance in charge of arrangements.
