Everett Davis

Everett Davis, the son of the late Elmer and Connie Overton Davis, was born in Blytheville, Ark. on Jan. 2, 1934 and died at the Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau on May 8, 2002, at the age of 68. Mr. Davis had lived in Blytheville for several years before moving to Puxico in 1963 and was living in Malden at the time of his passing. He was a retired mechanic and row crop farmer and was affiliated with the Christ Gospel Church in Puxico. On March 14, 1951 he was united in marriage to Maggie Elizabeth Stevenson in Bloomfield. She preceded him in death on Oct. 23, 1987. Survivors include two daughters, Jackie Daniels and Ruth Ann Hodge, both of Puxico; two sons, Eugene Davis of Bloomfield and Larry Davis of Advance; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Lex Davis of Malden, Donald Davis of Ark. and Ronald Gene Davis of Campbell; and three sisters, Vera Presley of St. Louis, Katheryn Harlan of Springfield, and Betty Moore of Campbell. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 9 after 5:30 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m., Friday, May 10 in the Watkins & Sons Funeral Chapel with Rev. Tim Hedge of Puxico and Rev. Charles Newell of Jackson officiating. Interment will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Malden with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Puxico in charge of arrangements.
