Pauline Ridenour Maddox, the daughter of the late Timothy Albert and Lessie D. Harvey Ridenour, was born June 16, 1922 in Bernie and died at the Three Rivers Healthcare North in Poplar Bluff on May 3, 2002, at the age of 79. Mrs. Maddox had lived in the Dudley area all her life. She was a member of the Corinth General Baptist Church near Puxico, was employed at the Hickory Log Restaurant in Dexter for several years, and after retirement worked as a care giver for several people. On Sept. 21, 1940 she was united in marriage to Jesse A. Maddox in Paragould, Ark. and he preceded her in death on Aug. 26, 1969. Surviving are two sons, Buddy Maddox Sr. of Portageville and Bennie H. Maddox of Worden, Ill.; one daughter, Peggie Miller of Puxico; one brother, Leon Ridenour of St. Louis; two sisters, Jewell Re of Crestwood, Mo. and Vera Melton of Thayer; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Homer and Alvin Ridenour and one sister, Ada Sutton. Visitation was held on Sunday, May 5 after 5 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico. Funeral services were conducted on Monday, May 6 at 10:30 a.m. in the Watkins & Sons Funeral Chapel with Rev. Bob Bradford of Chaffee officiating. Interment followed in the Rock Hill Cemetery near Puxico with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Puxico in charge of arrangements.
