Duane Kirby

Edward Duane Kirby, son of the late John H. and Cannie O. Edwards Kirby, was born at Bloomfield on Aug. 28, 1924 and passed away at his home in Bloomfield on May 1, 2002, at the age of 77. Mr. Kirby was a retired Electrical Construction Superintendent, at one time owned and operated a movie theater in Bloomfield, was a Boy Scout Leader for several years and helped plant pine trees for the Bloomfield City Park. Duane served in the United States Army during World War II. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Bloomfield and the Bloomfield Masonic Lodge #153 A.F. & A.M. On February 11, 1971 he was united in marriage to Deane Christian, she survives of the home in Bloomfield. Other survivors include one son, Steve Kirby of Seattle, Wa.; one daughter, Debra Keirsey of Dexter; one step-son, Rich Richmond of Bloomfield; two step-daughters, Donna Deardorff and Rebecca Gisi, both of Bloomfield; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; six-step grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; and other relatives and many friends survive to mourn his passing. Friends may call at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Bloomfield after 10 a.m. on Friday, May 3, 2002. Memorial services will follow at 11 a.m. at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Bloomfield with Rev. Ron Dunavin officiating with Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Cancer Society or the Trinity United Methodist Church. PAID
