Lena Elledge

Lena Jane Eaker Elledge, daughter of the late William Frederick Eaker and Anna Emeline Liley Eaker was born on September 22, 1910 at Lutesville, Mo., and departed this life in the Blanchette Place Care Center at St. Charles, Mo., on April 28, 2002 at the age of 91 years. Mrs. Elledge was a member of the Prospect General Baptist Church in Lake St. Louis. She accepted Christ at an early age and was a devoted Christian, wife and mother. Mrs. Elledge and her husband, William, entered the ministry in 1940 and pastored 10 churches in the Missouri area. They retired in 1975, but still filled the pulpit where needed. She loved her church, home, friends and was always ready to lend a helping hand. She was united in marriage to Rev. William Elledge on December 24, 1928 at Lutesville and they were married for 73 years. Rev. Elledge survives of the home in Lake St. Louis. Besides her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Lee Elledge of Collinsville, Ill.; by one grandson, Chris C. Elledge of Collinsville, Ill.; by one brother, Billy Gene Eaker, of Little Rock, Ark.; by two sisters, Ruby Funk of Hudson, N.Y. and Eula Newell of St. Louis. She was preceded in death by two sons, John Edwin Elledge and William "Chan" Elledge. Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis funeral home in Dexter from 5-8 p.m., Wednesday, May 1, 2002. Funeral services will then be conducted at 1 p.m., Thursday, May 2, 2002 in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Denver Eaker and Rev. Norman Elledge officiating. Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery. PAID
