"Scotty" Scott

Cledis E. "Scotty" Scott of Granite City, Ill., the son of the late Tom and Leona Scott-Wilson, was born Feb. 23, 1928 in Advance and died April 16, 2002 at his residence at the age of 74. Mr. Scott had worked as a meat cutter at John Morrell Packing Company for 33 years, where he retired in 1986. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and a member of the Harvest Assembly Church. He was united in marriage to Dolores Scott on March 3, 1967, she survives. Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Kevin Scott and Jeffrey Scott, both of Granite City, Ill.; by three daughters, Kathleen Littlejohn of Greenville, Ill., Deborah Wallace and Sandra Brawley, both of Granite City, Ill.; by one brother, Darrel Scott of Swansee, Ill.; by one sister, Geneva Mattea of Caseyville, Ill.; by 14 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Lloyd and Vergil Scott and Lester Dale Wilson; and one sister, Veda Rising. Visitation will be held, today, Wednesday, April 17 from 5 - 8 p.m. at Irwin Funeral Home at 3060 Maryville Road, Granite City, Ill. Funeral services will be conducted at Harvest Assembly at 10 a.m., Thursday, April 18 with Rev. Roy Boyer officiating. Interment will follow at the Sunset Hill Memorial Estates with Irwin Funeral Home of Granite City, Ill. in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Harvest Assembly Youth Group or the church building fund.
