Shirley Angel

Shirley Jolene (Long) Angel, daughter of Theron Cleveland and Edna Marie (Robinson) Long of Bloomfield, was born Aug. 1, 1936 near Idalia and died Friday, April 12, 2002, at St. Louis Christian Northeast Hospital, at the age of 65. Mrs. Angel was a member of St. Joe General Baptist Church at Idalia, a 1954 graduate of Bloomfield High School, a former Girl Scout leader and an active member of the Order of the Eastern Star. On Aug. 26, 1956, she was united in marriage to Ronald Angel of Chaffee, he survives. Other survivors include one daughter, Maria Davis of Boston, Mass.; her parents, Theron and Edna Long of Bloomfield; six brothers, T.C. Long of St. Louis, Robert Long of Granite City, Ill., William Ernest of New Madrid; and Mike Long, Darrol Long and Robin Long, all of Bloomfield; three sisters, Shannon Heilman of Bloomfield and Sandra Maury and Patricia Charest, both of St. Louis; and one grandson. Mrs. Long was preceded in death by one brother, John Long and one sister, Linda Courtemanche. Visitation was held Tuesday, April 16, 2002, at Buchholz Funeral Home in St. Louis. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m., Thursday, April 18, 2002, at the Chaffee General Baptist Church with Rev. Vyron Yount officiating. Interment will follow in the Chaffee Cemetery.
