Darrell Ward

Darrell R. Ward, the son of the late Dale and Mamie E. Farris Ward, was born in Bloomfield on July 10, 1940, and died at his home in Dexter on April 12, 2002, at the age of 61. Mr. Ward had lived in California for several years before returning to Dudley in 1982. He moved to Dexter in 1990. He was the Vice President of Sales at W.W. Wood Products in Dudley. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. On May 24, 1996, he was married to Beckie Baker in Piggott, Ark. Surviving are his wife, Beckie Ward of Dexter; one daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Mark Candau of Gresham Oregon; two grandchildren: Justin and Sarah Candau, both of Gresham, Oregon; two brothers: Sie Ward of Poplar Bluff and C. L. "Dink" Ward of Hermiston, Oregon. Other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Kyle and Pete Ward, and one sister, Thula Taylor. Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 14, from 1-3 p.m. at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter. Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, April 14, 2002, at 3 p.m. at the Watkins and Sons Chapel in Dexter with the Rev. Wayne Dismuke officiating. Internment will follow in the Smith-Stevenson Cemetery near Dexter with Watkins and Sons funeral home in charge of arrangements. PAID
