Charles R. Crites, 63, of Columbia, Ill., died Thursday, April 11, at Memorial Hospital in Belleville, Ill. Born in Bloomfield on Monday, Oct. 10, 1938, he was the son of the late Daniel Frank and Elsa (Wallmann) Crites. He retired as a machinist at Anheuser-Busch Companies, St. Louis. He had also worked at the Carling Brewery in Belleville, Ill. He was married on Oct. 21, 1962 to Joyce Wyatt Crites in Bloomfield. He was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church in Columbia, Ill., and was a private pilot. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Vicky Lynn Keller of Warrens, Wisc., Deborah (Oliver) Romera of Columbia, Ill., and Karen (Paul) Juenglisg of Columbia, Ill., by one son, Daniel C. Crites of Columbia, Ill; by one sister, Verna L. Hester of St. Louis. He is also survived by six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by brothers Robert and Robert Crites and a sister, Marilyn Plummer. Visitation will be held Sunday, March 14, from 4-9 p.m. at the Lawlor Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at Lawlor Funeral Home in Columbia, Ill, on Monday, April 14, 2002 at 10 a.m.., with the Rev. Ron Chase officiating. Graveside services will be held in the Dexter Memorial Cemetery at 2:45 p.m. Monday, April 15. Contributions may be made to the Columbia Public Library or the Bethany United Methodist Church, both in Columbia, Ill.
