Clarence Twitty

Clarence Twitty, the son of the late John and Etta Evans Twitty, was born in Morehouse on March 19, 1917 and died at his home near Morehouse on March 20, 2002, at the age of 85. Mr. Twitty had lived in the Morehouse area all his life. He had been a line superintendent with AmerenUE before his retirement. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in Alaska building the Alaska Highway. On Nov. 14, 1953 he was united in marriage to Pauline Huddleston in Tunica, Miss., she survives of the home in Morehouse. Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, Larry Leroy Twitty of Sikeston; by one daughter, Sandra Jean Meier of Vilonia, Ark.; and one granddaughter. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, John Raymond Twitty on Dec. 22, 1998. Visitation will be held at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Morehouse on Friday, March 22 from 6 - 7 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the Watkins & Sons Funeral Chapel on Saturday, March 23 at 1 p.m. with Rev. Roger Record of Benton officiating. Interment will follow in the Essex Cemetery with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Morehouse in charge of arrangements.
