Nora Caldwell

Nora E. Caldwell, daughter of the late Lafayette Dees and Laura Phelps Dees, was born on Dec. 24, 1910 at Clubb, Mo. and died in the Jerseyville Manor in Jerseyville, Ill. on March 20, 2002, at the age of 91. Mrs. Caldwell was a member of the Gospel Assembly Church in Dexter, a homemaker and a resident of Dexter. She was united in marriage to Loan H. Caldwell on March 26, 1932 at Steele. Mr. Caldwell preceded her in death on July 21, 1993. Survivors include one son, Gary Lee Caldwell of Dexter; by three daughters, Patsey Ruth Hampsey of Godfrey, Ill., Deanna Hose of Branson and Barbara Jo Gans of Naples, Fla.; by one sister, Catherine Horn of Modesto, Calif.; and by two grandchildren. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Virginia Maxine Caldwell and Jackie Marie Caldwell; by one sister, Clora Mouser; and by several brothers. Visitation will be held at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 1 - 2 p.m., Saturday, March 23. Funeral services will then be conducted at 2 p.m. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Clyde Shaw officiating. Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery with Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
