Samuel "Bruce" Vaughn, the son of the late William and Katie Carroll Vaughn, was born in Hickman, Ky., on Oct. 2, 1940, died Sunday, May 11, 2003, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston at the age of 62. Mr. Vaughn had lived in East Prairie most of his life and had lived in Morehouse the past four years. He was a retired foreman with a dairy farm. He is survived by one son, Samuel Bruce Vaughn, Jr. of Olney, Ill.; two daughters, Diana Rainey of Toma, Wis., and Theresa Smith of Gurnee, Ill.; three step-sons, Raymond Ross of Senatobia, Miss., Kenneth and Charles Bowman, both of Grant City; three step-daughters, Joyce Zook of Sikeston, Patricia Patrick of East Prairie, and Susan Newton of Pulaski, Tenn.; three grandchildren; and two sisters, Kay Higgins of Anniston and Ida Cobb of Poplar Bluff. He was preceded in death by three brothers, James, Clifton and Roy Vaughn; one sister, Mary Morgan; and one grandchild. Visitation will be held from noon until 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 14, 2003, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Morehouse. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 14, 2003, at the East Prairie Cemetery with Bob Burns of Granite City officiating. Interment will follow in the East Prairie Cemetery with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Morehouse in charge of all arrangements.
