Vera Virginia Pressley, daughter of the late John Elmer Davis and Connie Mae Overman Davis, was born Jan. 19, 1925, in Blytheville, Ark., and died at Saint Alexius Hospital in St. Louis on Friday, April 27, 2003, at the age of 78. Mrs. Pressley had been a machine operator at Caranth Mfg. Company in St. Louis. She was a resident of St. Louis. She is survived by one son, Felton Smith of St. Louis; three brothers, Lex J. Davis of Malden, Donald L. Davis of Ozark, Ark., and Ronald Gene Davis of Campbell; two sisters, Katherine Harline of Springfield and Betty Mae Moore of Campbell; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Carl Davis and Everett Davis; one sister, Norma Lee Dildine. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 30, 2003, at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie. Funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 30, 2003, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Bernie with Rev. Andy Evans officiating. Interment will follow in the Malden Memorial Park Cemetery.
