James Ezell

James C. Ezell, formerly a resident of Dexter and Oak Lawn, Ill., and the son of the late Ira and Florence Ezell, was born in Dexter on Feb. 27, 1911, and died Sunday, April 20, 2003, at the Resthaven Central Nursing Home in Palos Heights, Ill., at the age of 92. He was born in Dexter and moved to Chicago during his high school years. He spent many summers in Dexter. After his parents retired, they moved back to Dexter, and he still had the original family farms. Mr. Ezell was a member of Chicago Graphic Arts Local 458, a former employee of Cuneo Press and Alco Gravure. He is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years Kathryn C. Coates Ezell. He was the loving father of one daughter, Elizabeth (Cornelius) Morgan; proud grandfather of James (Beth), Mark (fiancee Anita), Kathryn (Mark) Leider, Maureen (John) McGlynn and Michael (Carla); 13 great-grandchildren, Michael, Mary, Elizabeth, and Moria Morgan, Elizabeth, Kitty, Christine and Liam Leider, Kelly, John Patrick and Ryan McGlynn and Matthew Dominic Morgan. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Clifford Ezell and Wilmer Ezell, and one sister-in-law, Lucille Ezell. In addition to services in Oak Lawn, Ill., visitation will be held Saturday, April 26, 2003, from 9-11 a.m. at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter. Graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 26, 2003, in the Caroline Dowdy Cemetery near Dexter with Rev. Kevin Eskew officiating. PAID
