Francis Deloris Blake, daughter of the late Buddy Lacey and Drusilla Richardson Lacey, was born on July 31, 1946, at Gideon and departed this life in the Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau on Monday, April 6, 2003, at the age of 56. Mrs. Blake was of the Pentecostal faith, a homemaker and a resident of Bernie. She was united in marriage to Melvin Junior (Buddy) Blake on April 28, 1975, at New Madrid. Survivors include her husband, Melvin Junior (Buddy) Blake of Bernie; one step-son, Ken Turner of Malden; three daughters, Sherry Brunzel and Anita Thacker, both of Lawrenceburg, Ky., and Beth Sheehan of Poplar Bluff; one step-daughter, Lavonda Jo Brown of Hayti; three brothers, William Lacey of Poplar Bluff, Roy Lacey of Van Buren, and Harvey Lacey of Gideon; two sisters, Jannette Byford and Vallarre Foster, both of Texas; eight grandchildren, Trevor Brunzel, Starr Brunzel, Kayla Anderson, Taylor Anderson, Emily Sheehan, Nicole Turner, Michael Turner and Stephanie Turner; and one great-grandchild, Ezra Ethan Mattney. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Dennis Lacey and one sister, Ruthann Vandiver. Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Bernie from 5-8 p.m. today, Tuesday, April 8, 2003. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 9, 2003, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Bernie with Rev. Bill Pennington officiating. Interment will follow in the Bernie Cemetery. PAID
