Gale "Big" Orr

Gale "Big" Orr, the son of the late Thomas B. and Etta King Orr, was born in Clarkton on March 31, 1927, and died Tuesday, March 25, 2003, at his home near Gray Ridge at the age of 75. Mr. Orr was a retired farmer and was a member of the Essex Lions Club. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was also a member of the Gray Ridge General Baptist Church. He is survived by two sisters, Doris McCoy of Dexter and Ruth Tucker of MerRouge, La. He was preceded in death by one twin brother, Marion Dale "Little" Orr, Sr. on May 17, 1971. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. today, Thursday, March 27, 2003, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, March 28, 2003, in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Doyle Corlew officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston. Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter is in charge of all arrangements.
