Ethel Fyffe

Ethel Melvina Fyffe, daughter of the late Charles Clark and Melvina Nelson Clark, was born on March 7, 1926, at Bernie and died at her residence in rural Dexter at the age of 76. Mrs. Fyffe had been a private nurse and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Bernie Christian Church. She was united in marriage to Eugene Fyffe on Nov. 9, 1946, at Piggott, Ark. Mr. Fyffe preceded his wife in death on May 5, 1998. She is survived by two sons, Charles Arthur Fyffe of Dexter and Darrell Gene Fyffe of Hoisington, Kan.; two daughters, Janice Lynn Shipman and Eugenia Sue Abelson, both of Dexter; one brother, Robert Clark of Cape Girardeau; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Raymond Clark, Lora Clark, Melvin Clark, Charles Clark, and Gene Clark; and three sisters, Goldie Clark, Lena Zimmerman and Evelyn Rice. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2003, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie. Graveside services will be conducted at Bernie Cemetery at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2003, with Rev. Jerry Hayward officiating. Interment will follow.
