Floy N. Rhodes of Advance, the daughter of the late Seth P. and Lena Palfreeman Overbey, was born April 4, 1912 at Bell City and died Saturday, March 16, 2002 at Perry Oaks Manor in Perryville, at the age of 89. Mrs. Rhodes was a machine operator at H.I.S. Clothing Factory in Tenn. and was a member of First Baptist Church in Delta. She was united in marriage to Louis Storey on March 31, 1928, he preceded her in death. She then married Bill Rushing on July 18, 1949 and he preceded her in death. Mrs. Rhodes then was united in marriage to Charles Rhodes on Jan. 1, 1980 and he preceded her in death on March 24, 1992. Survivors include one daughter, Bonnie Strong of Sedgewickville, Mo.; two grandsons; and four great-grandchildren. Besides her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by one brother and one sister. Visitation was held at the Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau on Monday, March 18 from 4 -8 p.m. Funeral services were held, today, Tuesday, March 19 at 1 p.m. in the Ford and Sons Funeral Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Strong officiating. Interment followed in the Stoderville Cemetery in Whitewater, Mo. with Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau in charge of arrangements.
