Dora Causey

Dora Lee Lawrence Causey, the daughter of the late Leo E. and Nellie Huber Lawrence, was born in Poplar Bluff on Sept. 5, 1926 and died at Missouri Southern Healthcare Facility in Dexter on March 10, 2002, at the age of 75. Mrs. Causey was a homemaker and had lived in Essex most of her life. She attended the Church of Christ in Essex. On Jan. 13, 1945, she was united in marriage to William Marvin Causey in Piggott, Ark. He preceded her in death on Dec. 17, 1996. Surviving are two daughters, Glynda McNair of Mountain Home, Ark. and Nola Thomason of Bernie; one granddaughter; and two sisters, Garnett Shirley Hannen of Forest Grove, Ore. and Edith Ellen Cooley of Mt. Dora, Fla. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by six brothers, George Wayne, Charles Oliver, Clyde Leo, Albert Burnett, James Russell, and Elmer Paul Lawrence; and by two sisters, Carma Lucille Gaines and Oleta Colleen Thurston. Visitation will be held at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter on Wednesday, March 13 after 12 p.m. Funeral services will then be conducted in the Watkins & Sons Funeral Chapel at 2 p.m. with Bro. Herman Morse of Dexter officiating. Interment will follow in the Essex Cemetery with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
