Jack H. Cochran of Dexter, the son of the late John and Amy Freeman Cochran, was born April 14, 1914 at London, Ark. and died Feb. 25, 2002 at Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter, at the age of 87. Jack was a farmer and of the General Baptist faith. He was united in marriage to V. Beulah Chesser on Feb. 8, 1936 in Clarksville, Ark. She preceded him in death on May 31, 1996. Survivors include two sons, Jim Cochran of Advance and John Cochran of Dexter; one brother, Early Cochran of Rise Junction, Mich.; two sisters, Maggie Dodd of Chaffee and Ruby Nelson of Sikeston; 14 grandchildren; and 36 great-grandchildren. Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Jerry Lee Cochran; three grandchildren; four sisters; and two brothers. Visitation was held at the Morgan Funeral Home in Advance on Feb. 27 from 5:30 - 8 p.m. Funeral services were conducted on Feb. 28 at 10 a.m. in the Morgan Funeral Chapel with Rev. Bob Quinton officiating. Interment followed at the Old Bethel Cemetery near Sikeston with Morgan Funeral Home of Advance in charge of arrangements.
