Claudine M. Lorch of Advance, the daughter of the late Oscar and Nelle Cawthon Tippett, was born June 4, 1920 in Advance and died Sunday, March 3, 2002 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, at the age of 81. She was united in marriage to Leonard J. Lorch on May 14, 1940 and he preceded her in death on Feb. 20, 2001. Mrs. Lorch was a 1937 graduate of Advance High School and taught at Swan Pond and Hickory Ridge rural schools. She worked at the Bank of Advance for 35 years and retired as Sr. Vice President and was member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Advance. Survivors include two sons, Dennis and David Lorch, both of Advance; three sisters, Mary Jo Murphy of Rhode Island, Wanda Jenkins of Advance and Nelline Myers of Winter Haven, Fla.; one half-sister, Inez Kokal of St. Louis; eight grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Michael Lorch and Wayne Lorch; one sister and two brothers. Visitation will be held at the Morgan Funeral Home in Advance on Tuesday, March 5 from 4:30 - 8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, March 6 at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Advance with Father Frederick Lutz officiating. Interment will follow at the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Advance with Morgan Funeral Home of Advance in charge of arrangements.
