Buddy Denson

O.D. Buddy Denson, son of Nebraska Dunaway Denson of Kennett and the late Robert Andrew Denson, was born on July 27, 1918 at Lawrenceburg, Tenn. and died in the Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter on Feb. 28, 2002, at age of 83. Mr. Denson was a member of the Dexter Church of Christ, the former owner of a lumber company in Parma and a resident of Dexter. He was united in marriage to Anna Knotts on Dec. 31, 1936 at Kennett. Mrs. Denson survives of the home in Dexter. Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, Jimmy Dale Denson of Wappapello; by one daughter, Dawna Carter of Dexter; by his mother, Nebraska Denson of Kennett; by four sisters, Hazel Baker and Willa Mae Haraway, both of Kennett, Bobbie Cunningham of Parma and Jo Ann Fitterling of Bridgeton, Mo.; by six grandchildren; by eight great-grandchildren; and by eight great-great-grandchildren. Besides his father, he was preceded in death by one brother, Hollis Denson and by one sister, Hildridge Johnson. Visitation was held at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 5 - 8 p.m., Saturday, March 2. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m., today, Sunday, March 3 in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Dale Grissom officiating. Interment will follow in the Malden Memorial Park Cemetery with Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
