Russell Jackson

Russell Keith Jackson, son of the late John F. Jackson and Grace Davis Jackson, was born on Aug. 17, 1934 at Kennett and died in the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau on Feb. 28, 2002 at the age of 67. Mr. Jackson was of the Pentecostal faith, a former employee of Purolator Filter Company in Dexter, a veteran of the United States Army and a resident of Dexter. He was united in marriage to Vaudine Goodrich on June 19, 1956 at Hernando, Miss. Mrs. Jackson survives of the home in Dexter. Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Mary Jo Backfisch of Ozark, Mo. and Jeris Knight of Dexter; by one brother, Bill Jackson of Dexter; by five grandchildren; and by five great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 5 - 8 p.m., Friday, March 1. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, March 2 in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Pastor Avis Murray officiating. Interment will follow in the Armstead Dowdy Cemetery with Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
