Raymond Vaughn, the son of the late Henry Tony and Maggie Mae English Vaughn, was born in Miner, Mo. on April 6, 1918 and died at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston on Feb. 14, 2002, at the age of 83. Mr. Vaughn had spent most of his life in the Canalou area. He was a member of the Christian Tabernacle in Sikeston and had served in the United States Army during World War II. On June 15, 1939, he was married to Mary Louise Reeves and she preceded him in death on Nov. 13, 1992. Surviving are two sons, Woodrow Vaughn of Canalou and Bobby Vaughn of Sikeston; two daughters, Connie Felton of Salem, Ark. and Linda Day of Morehouse; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Evelyn Rodgers of Dexter and Mary Cantrell of Sikeston. Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, three sisters, two grandsons and one granddaughter. Visitation was held Sunday, Feb. 17 from 11a.m. - 1:15 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Morehouse. Graveside services were held at 1:30 p.m. at the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston with Rev. Jimmy Vent of Morehouse officiating. Interment followed with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Morehouse in charge of arrangements.
