Ada P. Cotner

Ada P. Cotner, daughter of the late Ambrose L. Pruitt and Alullian Hull Pruitt, was born on Jan. 17, 1913 in Dexter and died in the Crestwood Medical Center in Huntsville, Ala. on Feb. 9, 2002, at the age of 89. Mrs. Cotner was a member of the First General Baptist Church in Dexter and was a former Obstetrics Nurse at Poe Clinic in Dexter. She was united in marriage to Harold (Pete) Rudolph Cotner on Sept. 4, 1946 in Dexter. Mr. Cotner preceded her in death on April 29, 1977. Survivors include two sons, William L. Cotner of Owens Cross Roads, Ala.; one step-son, Donald Cotner of St. Louis; two brothers, Dale Pruitt of Edinburgh, Texas and Delmer Pruitt of Poplar Bluff; two sisters, Ellen Blansett of McAllen, Texas and Susie Griffin of Memphis, Tenn. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Lewis Pruitt; three sisters, Sylvia Oldham, Dolly Salsman, and Ollie Lee. Graveside services were conducted at 4 p.m. at the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter on Monday, Feb. 11, 2002 with Rev. Clifford Wray officiating. Interment followed with Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
