Dora Mae Acup

Dora Mae Acup of Malden, the daughter of the late Charley Marion Carrel and Lizzy Pearl Steele Carrel, was born Oct. 13, 1915 at Halliday, Ark. and died Feb. 2, 2002 at Three Rivers Healthcare North in Poplar Bluff, at the age of 86. On Dec. 25, 1933 she was united in marriage to Charley Leroy Acup. He preceded her in death on April 5, 1987. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Malden. Survivors include one son, Freddie Acup of Malden; four daughters, Frances McCoin of Malden, Pearlie Williams of Dexter, Shirley Moore of Carrizo Springs, Texas and Rosemary Cowan of Cape Girardeau; 18 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Charles Acup; three brothers, Marion Carrel, Willie Carrel and an infant brother; and three sisters, Rosie Kegley, Edna Carrel and Gracie Carrel. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 5 at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden at 6 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, Feb. 6 at 2 p.m. at the Assembly of God Church in Malden with Rev. Dale Shoup officiating. Interment will follow at the Stanfield Cemetery in Clarkton with Bradshaw Funeral Home of Malden in charge of arrangements.
