Reba L. Medlin

Reba Lorane Medlin, the daughter of the late Charles Oscar and Lena Walker Pippins, was born in Townley, Mo. on Dec. 15, 1914 and passed away at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo. on Jan. 30, 2002, at the age of 87. Mrs. Medlin was a homemaker and worked for local Parma businesses during her 50's & 60's. She was a member of the Parma General Baptist Church. On Oct. 13, 1933, she was married to Lewis Almon "Slim" Medlin. He preceded her in death on May 22, 2000. Surviving are one son and his wife, L. Dean and Barbara (Miller) Medlin of Parma; three granddaughters, Yvonna Frazer and husband, Jim, of Richmond, Va., Penny Shoun and husband, Pete, of LaFollette, Tenn., Cindy Thompson and husband, Steve, of Arlington, Texas; five great-grandchildren, Joey, Abbey, Cassidy and Logan Shoun, all of LaFollette, Tenn. and Aubrey Thompson of Arlington, Texas; and two sisters, Mabel Stacy of St. Louis and Lola Bagby of Florida. Other relatives and many friends also survive. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Eunice McBroom and one brother, Arthur Pippins. Friends may call on Friday, Feb. 1 from 6 - 8 p.m. and on Saturday, Feb. 2 from 1 - 2:30 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Parma. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, Feb. 2 at 2:30 p.m. in the Watkins & Sons Chapel with Rev. Don Cooper of Dexter officiating. Interment will follow at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Malden with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Parma in charge of arrangements. PAID
