William Abel

William Isom Abel, son of the late Annas Clifford Abel and Annar Kellon Abel, was born on Sept. 24, 1929 at Nauvoo, Ala. and died in the emergency room of the Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter on Jan. 27, 2002, at the age of 72. Mr. Abel was welder with Pullman Standard and a resident of Dexter. Survivors include one son, William Dale Abel of Moberly, Mo.; two daughters, Gail Walker of Dexter and Linda Upton of Jackson, Miss.; one brother, James Abel of Nauvoo, Ala.; three sisters, Essie Gainey, Volora Ann Boshell and Magdaline Youcum, all of Carbon Hill, Ala.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Charlene Atchley, Loriene Youcum and Eva Mae Abel. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2002 in the Collins-Burke Funeral Chapel in Jasper, Ala. Interment followed in the Pisgah Cemetery at Carbon Hill, Ala. with Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home of Dexter in charge of all arrangements.
