Beatrice Hagy

Beatrice Hagy, the daughter of the late Ernest and Nancy Jones Scott, was born in Poplar Bluff on Feb. 16, 1925 and died at the Three Rivers Healthcare South Campus in Poplar Bluff on Jan. 17, 2002 at the age of 76. Mrs. Hagy had lived in Dudley for many years before moving to Dexter three years ago. She attended the Church of God in Dudley. On May 11, 1943 she was married to John Hagy, Sr. in Poplar Bluff, he survives of the home. Besides her husband, she is survived by three sons, John Hagy, Jr. of Dexter, Earl Hagy of Bel-Ridge, Mo. and James Hagy of Titusville, Fla.; by nine daughters, Nellie Runyon of Onley, Ill., Juanita Willoughby of Quapaw, Okla., Vida Scott of Dudley, Carolyn Fielder of Benton, Doris Price, Cora Magarian, Sandra Bayless, Claudia Scott and Wanda Drews, all of Dexter; by 32 grandchildren; and 54 great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by three sons, Ernest, Vincent and Estel Hagy; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home at Dexter on Saturday, Jan. 19 from 5 - 8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, Jan. 20 at 2:30 p.m. in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Kent Miller of Poplar Bluff and Rev. Jerry Metcalf of Puxico officiating. Interment will follow in the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
